What's the biggest problem with phones? They need to be charged time and again. A phone's best quality is that it is portable and you can take it anywhere, anytime. However, once the phone's battery dies, it doesn't remain portable anymore. You need to stay close to a power socket to keep charging the phone and this is where problems begin, especially if you need to go out soon. The best way to avoid such problems and to ensure that your phone's battery needs charging when you are about to sleep or when you are busy doing something else is to have a battery widget in your phone. It's true that there is the battery bar at the top right of the phone's screen but it's better to have an app dedicated to reminding you about your phone's health. Battery Widget Z is a fine app in this regard which can fulfill this need with ease.
The best feature of the app has to be the fact that it is an extremely simple app to use. The design is simple and clean and you get introduced to all of the app's feature in one go. The main idea behind the app is to keep you updated at all times with your phone's charging level. If you would be notified at all times, you would decide whether to use your phone extensively or not depending on when you can charge your phone and the importance of the task you are performing on your phone.
There are multiple image options for the widget and all are very cute. There are eleven animal pictures to choose from as the widget image. The bottom of the picture shows the current charging level of your phone's battery.
The other option is to display the battery's charging level as a notification on your phone's navigation bar. You can turn on the option from the main screen and can also change the notification image as well. The options available include a cat's paw, an apple, a chatbox, a heart etc. The app does provide nice customization options.
Other than these two features, the battery widget app also offers some other interesting options. The app provides a RAM manager through which you can perform two tasks. Firstly, you can 'Clear Memory' which would free up your RAM by killing all non-essential programs running in the background. This would free up the memory and would, as a result, minimize the chances of your phone's charge level decreasing rapidly. The other option is to provide an exception to the apps that you don't want to be killed when you opt for the 'Clear Memory' option. This is a fine feature as it allows you to keep those apps running which are essential and then killing off all other apps running in the background. This not only helps with battery management but also with phone performance.
The app also provides information on your phone's battery time, its current temperature and the voltage at which the battery is currently functioning. The app does lack a few features though. Another con is that it should be offering more battery management options along with bigger and customizable widget sizes.
- Simple to use
- No learning curve
- Simple widget with cute widget image options
- Nice notification option to keep you always up to date
- Good RAM manager option for battery management
Battery Widget Z is a cute battery widget app. If you want to have Battery Widget on your phone to keep you updated with your phone's charge level then Battery Widget Z wouldn't be that bad a choice.
